Replacement T therapy stopped working for me
When I was 34 years old I felt like I was much older. I didn't have stamina, sex drive, energy, confidence and an overall unhealthy feeling. I convinced my Dr. to test my T. The Dr. found my T levels to be low normal. How do you really know what is normal for you with a range that big. Anyway my Dr. prescribed me the patch form of replacement T. It was great. I felt great, I slept great and my sex drive was up. After about a week of using the patch I started noticing small red circles where the medicated portion of the patch contacted my skin. The Dr. said it must be an allergic reaction and wanted me to try the gel form. I said no because my wife and I wanted to have a child and I didn't want to expose her to the T. Once we had a child I went back to the Dr. and said I was ready to try the gel form. It didn't work. I tried the patch again and it didn't work. I tried the bucal form that you place between your check and gum it didn't work. Each time I could raise my T and free T levels into the high normal range but there was no relief of the symptoms. I then found myself being shuffled around to endocronologists, a psychiartist, a therapist a local diagnostic guru and he finally sent me to a fibromyalgia Dr. The fibro Dr. balanced hormones and I did experience a little relief. The fibro Dr. was a big advocate of bio identical hormones so I was taking an oral form of bio identical T. Again, it would raise my levels but the symptoms were still there. I have asked every Dr. the same question. Why would replacement T work for me then stop working? I have experienced the benefits of replacement T and it can really make a difference in your quality of life. That feeling and relief from the symptoms is what I want. Does anyone have an answer or idea? Your help is appreciated.
